Advisory on Surface Cleaning & Disinfection for COVID-19 (source NEA)

COVID-19 can be acquired through contact with surfaces contaminated with SARS-CoV-2 viruses.

Disinfection of tables, floors, spaces exposed to the viruses need to be cleaned to minimise the risks of transmission in the community.

For General disinfection, deep cleaning or wipe-down of surfaces with an effective disinfectant is RECOMMENDED.

klorkleen

The first step of disinfection is a a complete wipe down using appropriate disinfectants.

(Klorkleen has NaDCC and detergent based). You can use 1 tablet to 5 litres of water for a solution strength of 200 ppm of free available Chlorine)

1 tablet of Klorkleen contains 1670mg of Troclosene Sodium. It kills 99.999% of bacteria, viruses, mycobacteria, spores and fungi in under 10 minutes. It can be use on food handling and processing surfaces and equipment. No rinsing is required. Klorkeen is a high level broad spectrum hospital disinfectant and detergent used in critical and non critical care areas.

Application of chemical disinfectants by handheld misters and electrostatic sprayers are not adequate on their own, and SHOULD ONLY be used to supplement a wipe-down.

Alternatively whole room fumigation and ultraviolet irradiation are used for specific purposes such as in hospitals and laboratories. They must only be executed by trained professionals, as the whole processes are complex and exposure to chemical vapors and UV can cause harm to the users or public.
